Green Day is one of the most influential punk rock bands in the world. The trio has been dominating the alternative airwaves since the late 80s, and they aren\u2019t stopping any time soon even after their massive Super Bowl<\/a> performance.<\/p>\n

The band, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tr\u00e9 Cool was formed in 1986 in East Bay, Calif., after the former two went to elementary school together. \u201cWe were 10 years old, first time I met [Billie],\u201d Dirnt told\u00a0Consequence of Sound<\/a> in December 2024. \u201cOne of the first conversations we ever had was about songwriting. We were just pointed into something that we thought was cool, \u2019cause at the time we were each struggling to mitigate our own home lives and things like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Forty years later with hit albums like Dookie and American Idiot cementing themselves into American rock history and receiving honors like being inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,<\/a> Green Day\u2019s members will always be young at heart. When an interviewer<\/a> asked about why it seems like he\u2019s never aged, Billie Joe Armstrong said, \u201cI definitely age, I age every single day,\u201d he said. \u201d I think trying to mentally keep youself in a place where you still have excitement in your life. And you\u2019re in always in awe of something, And you always have that thing about you that you\u2019re dreaming the next dream, and never resting your laurels and not going through the motions. To me, that\u2019s the fountain of youth. It\u2019s not about the wrinkles on your face, or the fat you get or the grey hairs. It\u2019s just your zest for life.\u201d<\/p>\n
