\n\tEddie Murphy<\/a> and Eva Longoria<\/a> have teamed up to star in Attachment Parenting, a comedy newly set up at Amazon MGM.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe company has preemptively picked up the short story by Julianna Baggott from Davis Entertainment and Eddie Murphy Productions. <\/p>\n

\n\tMurphy and Longoria are attached to produce on top of starring via their respective companies along with veteran John Davis of Davis Entertainment, who is in the awards race this year with the feel-good Kate Hudson drama Song Sung Blue. The new project is a reunion for the three, who worked together on last year\u2019s Amazon\u2019s Murphy-starring action comedy, The Pickup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tEddie Murphy Productions\u2019 Charisse Hewitt-Webster will also produce, as will Jade Miranda of Hyphenate, the media company run by CCO Longoria and CEO Cris Abrego.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith a vibe that throws back to another era of studio comedies, the project tells of a psychologist couple whose parenting philosophy is put to the ultimate test when they\u2019re forced to counsel a crime boss\u2019s dysfunctional family while being held hostage at a hotel.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project is in the early stages of development and no writer or director are involved currently. <\/p>\n

\n\tBaggott, who also writes under two pen names, is a bestselling novelist, short story writer, essayist, and poet who has written more than 20 books. She also has a Hollywood component to her writing endeavors, and founded the production company Mildred\u2019s Moving Picture Show. She has over 20 projects in development, among them Backwards, which sold to Netflix with Shawn Levy attached to direct; The Hider, which sold to Universal for Robert Downey Jr. and Team Downey; and Except You, co-written with Finneas Scott, which is in development with Maximum Effort at Fox.<\/p>\n

\n\tMurphy is becoming an Amazon mainstay, having starred in a couple of the streamer\u2019s hits in recent years. He last starred in Pickup with Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer, released by Amazon last year, and also starred in and produced 2023\u2019s Candy Cane Lane for the company.<\/p>\n

\n\tLongoria appeared opposite Murphy in Pickup, in which she played his wife. She also was part of the bold-faced ensemble cast of Amazon\u2019s Christmas movie Oh. What. Fun. that streamed last year.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to working with Murphy on Pickup, Davis also produced the comedian\u2019s documentary Being Eddie, which debuted on Netflix last year. He was involved in producing 2025\u2019s Predator: Badlands and Predator: Killer of Killers. <\/p>\n
