There is more than a year and eight months until the scheduled release date of The Batman: Part II<\/a>, and it\u2019s unknown how many more casting announcements or character reveals will be made between now and then. Meanwhile, speculation will continue to be rampant, as it\u2019ll be fascinating to see where this iteration of Batman and his rogues\u2019 gallery is taken, especially following the thriller\/crime noir atmosphere of The Batman and The Penguin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin have already painted quite a vivid portrait of what they\u2019d like this DC Elseworld franchise to look like, and it may be fairly easy to see what their likely interests and influences could be. If The Batman: Part II takes inspiration from Mattson Tomlin\u2019s own Batman: The Imposter limited comic book series<\/a>, for instance, it would be phenomenal to see a live-action adaptation of GCPD detective Blair Wong.<\/p>\n

Batman: The Imposter\u2019s Blair Wong Could Be Great in Part II<\/p>\n

Knowing that Sebastian Stan is playing Harvey Dent<\/a> and Matt Reeves wishes to explore Gotham City\u2019s corruption further, it would make all the sense in the world if The Batman: Part II continued to center on the GCPD and how corrupt nearly every institution is. Blair, working alongside Jim Gordon and Harvey\u2014at least before he suffers a chemical burn\u2014could be an honest cop whose childhood trauma and crime-fighting motivations are almost identical to Bruce Wayne\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Blair becomes a love interest in Batman: The Imposter\u2019s story<\/a>, but she\u2019d be a neat addition regardless of whether they are romantically connected. Plus, while she may or may not be out of the picture for a little bit, Selina Kyle and Bruce had an interesting relationship and dynamic, and the last thing The Batman: Part II needs is a love triangle.<\/p>\n

The Batman: Part II Doesn\u2019t Need to Rush to Robin<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unknown if The Batman: Part II will feature Robin<\/a>, but the franchise\u2019s tone arguably doesn\u2019t seem suitable for a Robin, anyway. It obviously wants to be tremendously serious, and a teenage boy darting across rooftops in a yellow cape and a circus performer\u2019s uniform would be ridiculous in that context.<\/p>\n

Of course, Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin<\/a> could reinterpret Robin in a much different way, but Blair could be a great substitute for that kind of character without losing any of the sentiment behind it.
