France\u2019s En Compagnie des Lamas (\u201cManto\u201d), led by Sandrine Brauer, is confirmed to join as French producer. Details will be finalised at the Berlin <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/european-film-market\/\" id=\"auto-tag_european-film-market\" data-tag=\"european-film-market\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">European Film Market<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cBut First, The Burning\u201d follows two brothers sharing one identity in a desperate town, where a small deceit meant to double their chances at survival spirals into a deadly game of secrets with only one survivor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMakhija\u2019s internationally recognized filmography includes \u201cJoram,\u201d \u201cBhonsle\u201d and \u201cAjji.\u201d His Netflix thriller \u201cGandhari\u201d is due this year. Jha has built a diverse career across projects including \u201cLove Sex Aur Dhokha,\u201d \u201cChauranga\u201d and \u201cLakadbaggha.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film is scheduled to begin production in October, following the release of Jha\u2019s action sequel \u201cLakadbaggha 2.\u201d Jha will represent the film in Berlin as leading actor and executive producer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIntegrity. Conviction. And unadulterated vision \u2013 is the basis of this partnership,\u201d Jha said. \u201cWe are thrilled to have Roh and Lamas on board for this film which would mark our seventh production. And probably the most ambitious one with one of my favorite cinema makers in India \u2013 Devashish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBenny Drechsel of Roh Films Germany said: \u201cI really think that \u2018But First, The Burning\u2019 is probably the most compelling script from India since \u2018The Lunchbox.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSandrine Brauer of Lamas added: \u201cI\u2019m very proud to join forces with the creative duo formed by Anshuman and Devashish. Their film casts a lucid, uncompromising, yet deeply necessary light on the spiral of violence.
