ABB FIA Formula E World Championship tackles Jeddah Corniche Circuit for first double-header of the season<\/p>\n

Season 12 (2025\/26) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues with Rounds 4 and 5, taking place at the iconic Jeddah Corniche Circuit on 13 and 14 February 2026. PIT BOOST will return for the first time this season, a revolutionary recharging technology that changes the strategy elements of racing.<\/p>\n

\"\"\/<\/p>\n

The first double-header of Season 12 (2025\/26) is here, which will take place under the lights in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on a circuit that features a total track length of 3.01km long and consists of 19 turns. There\u2019s a lot to look out for this weekend, with the highly-anticipated return of PIT BOOST, and the top five in the drivers\u2019 standings separated by just seven points after three rounds. Jaguar TCS Racing\u2019s Mitch Evans secured his 15th victory last time out in Miami, making Formula E history for the most wins by one driver. He\u2019ll be looking to replicate this in Jeddah.<\/p>\n

In addition to the season\u2019s first double-header event,\u00a0the 2026 Jeddah E-Prix will return as a night race. Racing at night comes with lots of new things to think about compared to the usual daytime routine, including tyres and battery efficiency. With sessions happening at night, track temperatures will be cooler than those experienced during the day, which certainly create additional challenges for competitors to get the tyres to their optimal temperatures.<\/p>\n

Pablo Martino, FIA Head of Formula E, said:\u00a0\u201cWe are delighted to return to Jeddah for the second time on a circuit that delivered exciting racing last year. This first double-header of the season also marks the return of Pit Boost, our fast charging feature, for the opening race of the weekend. It once again demonstrates the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship\u2019s capacity for innovation, while adding an additional strategic element for competitors to manage.”<\/p>\n

Mitch Evans, No.9, Jaguar TCS Racing, said:\u00a0\u00a0\u201cGetting the win in Miami was a huge boost – for me personally of course, but for the whole team too. It was one of those races where everything just came together, and to take my 15th Formula E victory with Jaguar made it even more special. Now the attention shifts to Jeddah, which is a completely different challenge. We\u2019ve shown we have the pace, and if we execute well across both races, there\u2019s a big opportunity for us to really ride this momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nico M\u00fcller, No.51, Porsche Formula E Team, said:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m excited for the Jeddah E-Prix, a night race is always special. It\u2019s a cool track, it suits the GEN3 Evo well. It\u2019ll be the first PIT BOOST race of the season, which will make things challenging, having two completely different races. It also makes preparation more intense, because we\u2019re preparing for two different scenarios. However, we have a strong base, the car and the team are performing well, and now it\u2019s about optimising our package for this track and the conditions. We have full focus on scoring points and chasing that victory.\u201d<\/p>\n

PIT BOOST RETURNS<\/p>\n

The Jeddah double-header will see the return of PIT BOOST for the 2025\/26 Season, a revolutionary recharging technology that completely changes the strategy elements of racing. Only used in one race of the double-headers, this mandatory event sees drivers make a stop and receive a boost of energy during the middle of the race. From there, they are able to push harder with less emphasis on the need to manage energy levels which always leads to even more exciting racing.<\/p>\n

PIT BOOST sees the cars being given a 10% energy increase (3.85kWh) through a 30-second, 600kW boost in the pit lane. All drivers must stop during the race for this extra energy, however each team is only provided one PIT BOOST rig which prevents them from doing any double-stacking. This will also create plenty of drama and excitement, as each competitor navigates an additional element of race strategy and could potentially alter race outcomes and tactics.<\/p>\n

Drivers must take the PIT BOOST when their battery’s State of Charge (SoC) is below 60% and above 40%. The timing of this could vary from garage to garage depending on the strategy of consumption each driver has during the first phase of the race. For this season, only one ATTACK MODE activation will be available during PIT BOOST races, which will last for 6 minutes.<\/p>\n

FIA GIRLS ON TRACK AT THE JEDDAH E-PRIX<\/p>\n

Reaffirming its commitment to education and gender inclusivity in motor sport, the FIA Girls on Track initiative for Season 12 is aiming to reach even more young women in every race market, supporting the growing demand of young women who are seeking opportunities and support to pursue careers in motor sport. FIA Girls on Track activity for the 2026 Jeddah E-Prix includes hosting up to 120 young women for its FIA Girls on Track programme across the race week. Attendees will participate in workshops, gaming, career talks and a Pit Lane Walk, promoting empowerment and education in motor sport and engineering – while four participants will take part in the podium ceremony, placing young women visibly at the heart of the sport.<\/p>\n
