\n\tAfter taking over the Metropolitan Opera House for his 45th anniversary show, Michael Kors<\/a> kept the New York feel going with an after party<\/a> across the street at P.J. Clarke\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile \u201cChess\u201d star Lea Michele, who\u2019d been at the show, had to run to make the night\u2019s performance, other Broadway stars including Rachel Zegler, Kara Young and Nicole Scherzinger were in attendance. Dakota Fanning sat at a table by the windows, sipping a martini. Trays of burgers, fries and lobster rolls circled the room as guests such as Martha Stewart, Suki Waterhouse, Kelsea Ballerini, Leslie Bibb, Supriya Ganesh and Ava Phillippe mingled throughout the restaurant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tKors himself arrived later on, his signature dark aviators on and husband Lance Le Pere by his side. The room lit up and the crowd parted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh my god, he\u2019s like the pope,\u201d a guest enthused.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Kors had done a round of photos with his ladies, he made his way over to where Rufus Wainwright was stationed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m Rufus Wainwright, for those of you who don\u2019t know anything,\u201d he cracked, before singing covers of Bob Dylan and Billy Joel, which he dedicated to Kors and Le Pere.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRufus, you are magic, magic, magic, magic,\u201d the designer said between Wainwright\u2019s songs. \u201cAnd honestly, what could be better than a martini, a cheeseburger and the Met?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe went on to thank the room for having been part of his journey over the 45 years of business.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know what? Forty-five years in, I still feel like a kid. My knees won\u2019t feel like a kid tomorrow. But really, I can\u2019t thank you all enough,\u201d Kors said. \u201cHere\u2019s the toast to all of you, and thank you. We are in the greatest f\u2013king city in the world. When bad s\u2013t happens here, they put the flag back up today \u2014 sorry, it\u2019s back now,\u201d he said to cheers, referencing the removal of the Pride flag at Stonewall National Monument earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe other night we saw a girl in stilettos climbing over snowbanks with bare legs, and I\u2019m like, \u2018New York girl,\u2019\u201d Kors continued. \u201cSo really I couldn\u2019t be happier and prouder to be a native New Yorker.\u201d<\/p>\n
