\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Nightborn<\/a>, the second feature from Finnish filmmaker Hanna Bergholm, debuts at this year\u2019s Berlinale. Here\u2019s a clip from the film.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film\u2019s synopsis reads: With dreams of starting a perfect family, Saga and her British husband Jon move to the isolated house where she spent much of her childhood, deep in the Finnish forest. But as soon as their baby is born, despite the reassurance of all around her, Saga knows there\u2019s something terribly wrong with her son. As their marriage starts to crack, Jon struggles to support his wife, but only Saga suspects the terrible truth about her newborn.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film stars Seidi Haarla, Rupert Grint<\/a>, Pamela Tola, Pirkko Saisio, and Rebecca Lacey. Bergholm wrote the screenplay with Ilja Rautsi. It was produced by Daniel Kuitunen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNightborn is a film about the first year of a baby\u2019s life, exploring how a child can change a relationship in profound and unexpected ways,\u201d Bergholm said in her author statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe story really grew out of my own feelings and experiences as a mother: those complex, sometimes difficult emotions, and how challenging love for your child can be. Parenting is not always easy, and when a child isn\u2019t quite what you expected \u2013 a happy, easy-going baby \u2013 you begin to question how to be a parent to them. I also felt that there aren\u2019t enough stories exploring the messy, difficult, and sometimes \u2018ugly\u2019 side of parental love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGoodfellas is handling sales on the title.\u00a0<\/p>\n
