(KABC) &#8212; Sandy Steers, the executive director of Friends of Big Bear Valley and a familiar face to many who follow the famed Big Bear eagles Jackie and Shadow, has died, the organization announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Friends of Big Bear Valley shared the news in a social media post, saying Steers died Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">No additional details about the circumstances of her death have been released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Steers helped launch the livestream cameras that offer a close-up look at the daily lives of Jackie and Shadow and the eggs they have laid over the years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">She appeared multiple times on Eyewitness News, where she spoke about the famous Big Bear couple and their eaglets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The group said more information will be provided at a later time.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KABC Television, LLC.
