The film \u2014 following an American family who butt heads while staying in a Spanish villa, described by the film fest as \u201ca biting satire about the absurdity of the traditional patriarchal family\u201d \u2014\u00a0will get its world premiere Saturday evening at the Berlinale Palast. Co-stars Elle Fanning and Riley Keough were notably absent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAt the top of the presser, a journalist decided to address \u201cthe elephant in the room\u201d and ask Turner about the fervent rumors that he is the next James Bond: \u201cIt\u2019s very early for that question,\u201d Turner agreed, smiling slightly. \u201cI\u2019m not going to comment on it.\u201d Letts jokingly interjected: \u201cI\u2019m sorry\u2026 I\u2019m the next James Bond!\u201d prompting laughter around the room.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Callum Turner is immediately asked about playing the next James Bond at the Berlin Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to comment.\u201d His \u2018Rosebush Pruning\u2019 co-star Tracy Letts then interjects: \u201c\u2026 I\u2019m the next James Bond!\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LIUS73TEEh\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/LIUS73TEEh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/THR\/status\/2022659710617555416?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 14, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/berlin-film-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_berlin-film-festival_1\" data-tag=\"berlin-film-festival\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Berlin Film Festival<\/a> and its celebrity attendees have been under scrutiny so far this week after jury president Wim Wenders, Golden Bear recipient Michelle Yeoh, and Sunny Dancer star Neil Patrick Harris all declined to talk about cinema\u2019s relationship with politics and the rise of fascism. European journalists have voiced their disapproval that Berlin, historically a politically active festival, has seemingly shut out urgent conversations as they arise at the pressers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAcclaimed Indian author Arundhati Roy (The God of Small Things) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/arundhati-roy-exits-berlinale-wim-wenders-comments-1236504639\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pulled out of the fest entirely<\/a> on Friday\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/berlinale-2026-gets-heated-wim-wenders-jury-politics-1236503389\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in response to comments\u00a0by Wenders<\/a> that \u201cart should not be political.\u201d Yeoh told journalists at her press conference that \u201cI don\u2019t think I am in the position to really talk about the political situation in the U.S., and also I cannot [\u2026] say I understand it, so it is best not to talk about something I don\u2019t know about,\u201d while Harris said he prefers to \u201cdo things that are apolitical\u201d when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/neil-patrick-harris-politics-berlin-sunny-bella-ramsey-1236504443\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hit with a barrage of questions<\/a> on U.S. politics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThis time around, Letts, who plays the wealthy patriarch character in Rosebush Pruning, was first to answer questions on politics: \u201cThis movie speaks for itself. This movie has its own beautiful statement to make, courtesy of [a] beautiful screenplay and beautiful ensemble cast and beautiful director.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI can\u2019t speak for other artists,\u201d he continued, \u201cI don\u2019t necessarily feel comfortable taking away from the work that they\u2019ve done\u2026 It\u2019s an awkward thing to discuss because of our political situation, but one of the things that this movie gets at, I think, on the face of it, is that this extreme disparity in wealth breeds bad behavior, and, in fact, probably creates fascism. This is one of the  [\u2026] ways around it in terms of working as an artist. We\u2019re all artists coming together to work on a thing together and politics taking place in one\u2019s country don\u2019t necessarily impact each of us as we gather together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBrazilian filmmaker A\u00efnouz was also asked about the public financing for the film and help from the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and U.K. Global Screen Fund. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe live in a time where censorship and political judgments of what we\u2019re doing are really, really dangerous, particularly in certain countries,\u201d he answered. \u201cI think public funding is really important.
