Wild Horse Nine
\u201cThe Banshees Of Inisherin\u201d and \u201cIn Bruges\u201d director Martin McDonagh\u2018s next movie, \u201cWild Horse Nine,\u201d has been set for a November 6th release date by Searchlight. <\/p>\n

Set in 1973 Chile in the wake of the agency\u2019s coup to overthrow the Chilean government, the story follows two CIA agents who head to Easter Island. John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Mariana di Girolamo, Ail\u00edn Salas, Tom Waits, and Parker Posey star. [Source: The Playlist<\/a>]<\/p>\n

Acquisitions
A couple of smaller distributor acqusitions today, starting with Vertical snagging the U.S. rights to the $150 million-budgeted, Saudi-backed and Anthony Mackie-led \u201cDesert Warrior\u201d which was shot back in 2021 and underwent major reworking in post-production.<\/p>\n

Next, Sumerian Pictures has acquired U.S. rights for Sundance winner \u201cJosephine\u201d in a big deal that sees a major theatrical release and awards campaign commitment. Finally, Gregg Araki\u2019s kinky thriller \u201cI Want Your Sex,\u201d starring Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, has landed at Magnolia Pictures. No date for it has yet been set. Hungry
The first photo is out from \u201cHungry,\u201d a Malta-shot survival thriller from filmmaker James Nunn. Madison Davenport, Joaquim de Almeida, Tracey Bonner, Jim Meskimen, Samantha Coughlan and Olivia Bernstone co-star.<\/p>\n

The story centers on a group of holidaymakers that must fight for their lives against a rampaging hippo on the loose after becoming lost in the Louisiana swamplands. The film is being sold at the EFM.<\/p>\n

Oscar-winning \u201cAnora\u201d filmmaker Sean Baker has revealed the first details of what his next indie feature film be while speaking at the Berlin Film Festival. Baker says: \u201cIt\u2019s my love letter to the Italian sex comedies of the \u201960s and \u201970s, so I\u2019m leaning into that. We want to shoot this year.\u201d No specific title has been revealed.<\/p>\n

Baker was there for a Q&A over his collaboration with Michelle Yeoh on \u201cSandiwara,\u201d a short film made for London fashion house \u2018self-portrait\u2019 which goes into the world of Malaysian culture. That got a special screening at Berlinale on Friday. [Source: Variety<\/a><\/p>\n
