The Tourist’s Jamie Dornan<\/a> has joined the cast of a new star-studded, dark, British comedy which has been described as “wickedly entertaining” and “full of twists and turns”. The Worst will mark the feature directorial debut of actor-turned-playwright Simon Woods, who also wrote the film’s script. <\/p>\n

Dornan will star alongside Love Actually<\/a>‘s Keira Knightley, Alicia Vikander and Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The film’s description (per Deadline<\/a>) reads: “Socialite Emily Fisher (Vikander) and her husband Max invite their equally wealthy friends to their new chateau in France for the night. <\/p>\n

“Among the guests are a group of people who really can\u2019t stand each other: Holly (Knightley), a struggling diversity consultant who continuously clashes with everyone until she gets a migraine, and Danny (Dornan), a quick-witted talent agent that name-drops his client list every chance he gets. <\/p>\n

“As the evening begins to unravel and dark secrets are revealed, waitress Niamh (Kellyman) finds herself right in the middle of their chaos”.<\/p>\n

Before turning to writing and directing Woods starred alongside Knightley in 2005’s Pride & Prejudice.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his lastest project, Woods told Variety<\/a>: “I want audiences to have a great time watching The Worst \u2014 to be drawn in by these vivid, over-the-top comic characters, their messy, uncomfortable relationships, and the squirm of it all.<\/p>\n

“I want to dare the audience to like these people, bringing them right up to the line of almost agreeing with them, and in doing so hold a satirical mirror up to the moment we\u2019re living in.”<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re building a film full of twists and turns, and there\u2019s no better dream ensemble than this one to deliver every unexpected beat,” the director added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile fans of Knightley’s Netflix spy thriller Black Doves<\/a> have been eagerly awaiting the show’s second season ever since it was confirmed back in 2024.<\/p>\n

While there’s still no release date yet for season two, fans will be happy to know that Sarah Lancashire has confirmed she’ll be returning<\/a> for the next instalment, while Scream icon Neve Campbell has joined the cast.
