\n\tBoth Peter Hujar\u2019s Day<\/a> and One of Them Days<\/a> received shoutouts<\/a> in host Ego Nwodim\u2019s 2026 Spirit Awards<\/a> monologue for the different scale of things each film showed being accomplished in a single day.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut when it came to Spirit Awards<\/a> wins, Sunday wasn\u2019t either film\u2019s day. Both Peter Hujar\u2019s Day, which went into the ceremony with a leading five nominations, more than any other film, and One of Them Days<\/a>, one of a number of movies up for four awards<\/a> including best feature winner Train Dreams<\/a> and multiple award winners Lurker<\/a> and Sorry, Baby<\/a>, went home empty-handed.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth films had star-studded teams behind them, with Peter Hujar\u2019s Day written and directed by Ira Sachs and starring Ben Whishaw and Rebecca Hall and One of Them Days starring Keke Palmer and SZA in the Issa Rae-produced film directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton,.<\/p>\n

\n\tSZA was even nominated for best breakthrough performance, losing, in a surprise, to The Plague<\/a>\u2018s Kayo Martin.<\/p>\n

\n\tJames Sweeney\u2019s acclaimed Dylan O\u2019Brien starrer Twinless<\/a> was also shut out despite receiving three nominations. Both Peter Hujar\u2019s Day and Twinless<\/a> were up for best feature.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the TV side, while Adolescence<\/a> swept, winning all four of the awards for which it was nominated, as the Netflix limited series continues to collect trophies nearly a year after it premiered, two other series that also received four nominations, Forever<\/a> and Mr Loverman, were shut out, failing to win any awards in the TV categories.<\/p>\n
