Jacob Elordi<\/a> is one of Hollywood\u2019s new it boys. He\u2019s been very popular since Euphoria, and for some, since The Kissing Booth<\/a>, though Elordi would probably not want to be remembered for that. Now an Oscar-nominated actor for Guillermo Del Toro\u2019s Frankenstein, Elordi was already very popular and well-known, and that was before his new turn as Heathcliff in the new Wuthering Heights, opposite Margot Robbie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But is there a bigger role waiting out there for him? There have been rumors that Elordi could take over the role of James Bond, and right now it seems like the one making the call on that will be Jeff Bezos\u2019s new wife<\/a>, Lauren S\u00e1nchez<\/a>. Which apparently isn\u2019t exactly good news for the actor.<\/p>\n

According to Rob Shuter<\/a>, \u201cThis is Lauren\u2019s call now,\u201d\u00a0according to one insider.\u00a0\u201cIf she\u2019s not feeling you, it\u2019s done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumor goes that she isn\u2019t feeling Elordi. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter how many meetings you take or how loud the internet gets,\u201d\u00a0a source said.\u00a0\u201cLauren decides what Bond looks like \u2014 and Jacob isn\u2019t it.\u201d Maybe she just hasn\u2019t watched the new Wuthering Heights?<\/p>\n

The reports indicate S\u00e1nchez has a very specific vision for the next 007, and Elordi doesn\u2019t fit in with that. \u201cShe wants someone who commands a room before he says a word,\u201d\u00a0another insider said.\u00a0\u201cNot someone who looks like he\u2019s carrying emotional luggage.\u201d Ouch.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce Lauren makes up her mind, the conversation is over,\u201d\u00a0the gossip columnist also reported.\u00a0\u201cBuzz doesn\u2019t matter. Awards don\u2019t matter. The decision is already made.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the Daily Mail<\/a> is reporting otherwise. \u201cNo, she\u2019s not picking the next James Bond. And no, she\u2019s not going to be a Bond girl either \u2014 except maybe for\u00a0Halloween,\u201d an insider said. And though the outlet didn\u2019t have much more information about the subject, it did indicate how strange it would be for S\u00e1nchez to be involved in such a high-level decision.<\/p>\n

Shuter had also previously reported that Bezos wants his wife to be the next Bond girl, so perhaps we should take all of this with a grain of salt. It\u2019s not that Elordi has the James Bond role locked, but he would not be a bad choice. And if he wins an Oscar for Frankenstein, it\u2019s hard to say he wouldn\u2019t be a leading candidate.<\/p>\n

But hey, S\u00e1nchez might still end up having some say. We don\u2019t know. Right now, there are a lot of different names floating around, and we\u2019re nowhere near the answer. There had been reports that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was a frontrunner. Recently, however, another name has been thrown around: Callum Turner. Some people love the possibility of Elordi taking the role, of course.<\/p>\n

One thing against him? He\u2019s not British. And though he would not be the first Australian to take the role of the dapper British spy, perhaps the powers that be would like to stick closer to the roots of the character on this one? We will have to wait and see. And, once we have an answer, perhaps that will give us a clue as to where the decision came from.<\/p>\n
