Former IDF military intelligence chief, Amos Yadlin, said he would \u201cthink twice\u201d about flying this weekend, commenting on the negotiations between the United States and Iran in an interview with N12 on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

“Last week, I allowed myself to fly to the Munich Security Conference<\/a>. I would think twice about flying this coming weekend,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yadlin, who formerly headed Military Intelligence, added in an interview with “Morning News,” “We are much closer than we were before, but I remind you, \u00a0a superpower does not go to war within days. There is a diplomatic path that needs to be exhausted.”<\/p>\n

According to him, “Many oppose an attack. At the Pentagon, it’s unclear what they want to achieve. The president is very determined; the statement that all options are on the table is based on a credible military threat, which complements his preparations along Iran\u2019s shores and in its airspace<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

However, senior American officials told Walla yesterday, following the second round of talks with Iran<\/a>, that “progress was made, but there is still much to discuss.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

They confirmed the words of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who said: “We have reached an understanding on the key principles. I can say that in this round, compared to the previous one, very serious issues were raised, and the atmosphere was more constructive. Various ideas were raised, and these ideas were discussed seriously. In the end, we managed to reach a general agreement on a set of guiding principles, according to which we will continue from here on and begin drafting a possible agreement.”<\/p>\n

The talks between the countries took place in Geneva, at the Omani Ambassador\u2019s residence at the UN, under heavy security, amid skepticism about reaching an agreement to prevent military action against Iran.<\/p>\n

The previous round of talks was held in Oman, a sultanate on the southern Arabian Peninsula, which has long served as a mediator between Tehran and Washington.<\/p>\n

At the start of the second round, a senior Iranian official emphasized that the success of the talks depends on the United States avoiding “unrealistic demands,” as Iran refuses to discuss its missile program and support for terrorist organizations in the region.<\/p>\n
