Twenty One Pilots<\/a> have officially released \u2018Drag Path\u2019 as their latest single \u2013 listen to it below.<\/p>\n

The Ohio duo, comprising Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, originally shared the song as an exclusive bonus track on \u2018Breach: Digital Remains\u2019 \u2013 a limited-edition expansion of their 2025 album, \u2018Breach\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, this version of the record was only available for one week. The emotional and epic \u2018Drag Path\u2019 subsequently began to take on new life and earn the band new fans. Twenty One Pilots have since returned to the studio to record a new, shortened take on the song.<\/p>\n

\u2018Drag Path\u2019 arrives with an accompanying animated music video, written and directed by Tobias Gundorff Boesen. The visuals were inspired by one of Gundorff\u2019s short films from over a decade ago. Joseph reached out to adapt his short into a video.<\/p>\n

The previous version of \u2018Drag Path\u2019 was not available on streaming platforms, but went viral online regardless. It racked up more than 1.5billion views across over 75K creations on TikTok<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Explaining their decision to release the single digitally, Twenty One Pilots said<\/a>: \u201cWe had not wanted to release \u2018Drag Path\u2019 officially because we wanted to respect those who purchased it [physically], so that\u2019s why we\u2019ve waited. But now we want to release it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019re gonna do is, we\u2019re gonna release it with a slightly different edit to it so that those who bought it have a more original version of it. So the official released version is gonna be a little bit different, structurally.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of it is intact, but I wanted to save something special for those who purchased it originally.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added: \u201cWe\u2019re in a rehearsal space now, working on maybe playing this song live this year. Hopefully you\u2019ll like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

This summer, Twenty One Pilots will make their debut headline appearance at All Points East 2026 in London\u2019s Victoria Park<\/a> \u2013 marking their only UK performance of the year. The line-up boasts an array of opening acts, such as Wunderhorse<\/a>,\u00a0Nova Twins<\/a> and Pvris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Twenty One Pilots are also scheduled to top the bill at Electric Castle 2026<\/a>\u00a0alongside\u00a0The Cure<\/a>. Other European stops include Sziget<\/a>,\u00a0Mad Cool<\/a>, NOS Alive<\/a>, Rock Werchter<\/a> and Pinkpop.<\/p>\n

Last month, the band shared the epic trailer for their new concert film More Than We Ever Imagined<\/a>. The movie arrives at IMAX and cinemas worldwide on February 26 for a limited time, with exclusive IMAX previews beginning on February 25. Tickets are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Twenty One Pilots spoke to NME\u00a0for The Cover<\/a>\u00a0around the release of their sixth album\u00a0\u2018Scaled & Icy\u2019<\/a>. They revealed at the time that the record saw them lean into a new sense of optimism following the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew the record could go one of two ways,\u201d Joseph said. \u201cWe could directly respond to what was going on in the world, or we could lean into this idea of escaping and almost looking at everything from a different dimension. A dimension that\u2019s more colourful, that\u2019s got a little more positivity to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThat felt more exciting to me, to come down into this studio where I felt like the walls of the place that I was creating were impenetrable. It\u2019s intentionally disconnected from the time in which it was created.\u201d<\/p>\n
