Investing.com — Tesla\u2019s long-term prospects are closely linked to CEO Elon Musk and the company\u2019s ambitions in artificial intelligence, Morgan Stanley analysts said in a research note.<\/p>\n
The analysts highlighted Musk\u2019s proposed compensation package as key to understanding Tesla\u2019s strategic trajectory.<\/p>\n
Morgan Stanley said it \u201cputs to bed concerns over Elon\u2019s long-term commitment to Tesla,\u201d noting that Musk \u201chas expressed his desire to hold at least a \u2018blocking minority\u2019 (25%-type stake) in the company to have some say in a potential change of control.\u201d<\/p>\n
The note added that, with no clear near-term succession plan, Musk\u2019s focus on Tesla is likely to intensify as the company scales AI-enabled manufacturing and commercializes physical AI products.<\/p>\n
Morgan Stanley said Tesla\u2019s performance targets, which include vehicle deliveries, Full Self-Driving subscriptions, and Robotaxis, \u201cappear achievable over a 10-year view,\u201d though the company\u2019s goal of $400 billion in adjusted EBITDA would require substantial contributions from AI-driven markets, including its Optimus humanoid robots.<\/p>\n
The note explained that a single percent conversion of the U.S. labor force to humanoid robots could represent roughly $320 billion in market value.<\/p>\n
The bank also highlighted the flexibility of Tesla\u2019s definition of a \u201cBot,\u201d which could include \u201chumanoids, robotic arms, AMRs (autonomous mobile robots), non-vehicle drones, snake-dog robots, robots in space, robotic implants and much much more.\u201d<\/p>\n
Finally, Morgan Stanley noted potential synergies with Musk\u2019s xAI venture, suggesting that the CEO could leverage AI growth opportunities to advance Tesla\u2019s market position.<\/p>\n
The analysts concluded that, while execution will be key, the compensation plan \u201caligns Tesla minority shareholder interest with those of Elon Musk\u201d and reinforces his long-term commitment to the company.<\/p>\n
Morgan Stanley said Musk\u2019s absence from a recent White House tech dinner underscores a \u201cmore \u2018go it alone\u2019 strategy\u201d as Tesla pursues leadership in physical AI and renewable energy.<\/p>\n
