In a Friday interview with CBS Mornings, Hilary Duff<\/a> confirmed that one of the songs, \u201cWe Don\u2019t Talk,\u201d from her new album is about her older sister, Haylie Duff. \u201cIt\u2019s definitely about my sister and just absolutely the most lonely part of my existence,\u201d the 38-year-old said when asked about the song, which includes the lines \u201cI\u2019m not sure when it happened \/ Not even sure what it was about,\u201d and references coming from \u201cthe same home, the same blood.\u201d She added, \u201cIt\u2019s not having my sister in my life at the moment, and I really struggled with thinking about including that on the record.\u201d<\/p>\n Duff explained that she wanted to make an album about \u201cconnection,\u201d which should include songs that reflect her life. When asked if she hoped Haylie would hear the song, the singer said she didn\u2019t \u201cthink that would help.\u201d She added, \u201cI think I have to just exist as a person on my own and do what I want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n The Duff sisters were inseparable throughout the aughts \u2014 they often acted and sang together (you might remember their hit 2004 cover of\u00a0\u201cOur Lips Are Sealed\u201d). It\u2019s unclear what exactly happened between them, but according to Us Weekly, the sisters were last photographed<\/a> together in 2019 and have since stopped interacting with each other on social media. Duff, who\u2019s gearing up for a big pop-star comeback tour, has been speaking more about their apparent falling-out while doing press for the new album. \u201cThat\u2019s my family. Those are the people that affect you the most, take up the most space naturally as a human who\u2019s born into something,\u201d she told<\/a> Glamour earlier this week. \u201cJust because you\u2019re born into a family doesn\u2019t mean that it always stays together.
