{"id":303607,"date":"2026-02-22T00:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T00:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/303607\/"},"modified":"2026-02-22T00:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T00:14:09","slug":"how-exercise-helped-a-mother-tackle-serious-knee-pain-and-return-to-cane-free-walking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/303607\/","title":{"rendered":"How exercise helped a mother tackle serious knee pain and return to cane-free walking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">When teaching assistant Kavita Biswas first asked for a wheelchair at the airport, she was struggling to walk even short distances.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">It was a world away from her active life practising yoga and dance alongside her full-time job in a Hong Kong school.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Suddenly, in her mid-forties, she found herself relying on a cane and, at times, a walking frame.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Knee pain had steadily taken over her life, reshaping her days and narrowing her sense of what might still be possible.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The pain began around four years ago and was initially diagnosed as a meniscus tear. Biswas, who lives in Hong Kong\u2019s New Territories, wrongly assumed it would settle.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cI actually just continued with my daily routine, my exercises, to the extent that the pain became unbearable and I found it difficult to walk,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"By the time Biswas had reached her mid-forties, her knee had become so painful that simple daily activities were difficult.
