Camila Cabello is speaking out about what is happening in Cuba and urging people to support these humanitarian efforts.<\/p>\n
In an Instagram<\/a> post, Cabello said she had a \u201cpersonal responsibility\u201d to speak out about what is happening in Cuba because she still has people there and sends them supplies.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is so much going on here at home and so much I can say about the heartbreaking things the immigrant community is experiencing here in the US,\u201d Cabello wrote. \u201cI also feel a personal responsibility to speak about what\u2019s happening in Cuba, I still have family on the island that we speak to and send medicine, food, and clothes to.\u201d<\/p>\n Cabello explained what is going on in Cuba, saying people are living in dire conditions. \u201cThe people are lacking food, medicine, and other things,\u201d she said. \u201cIt has been 67 years of a failing dictatorship and an oppressive regime. The Cuban people are suffering in an echo chamber where no one can hear them because to speak is to risk your life.\u201d<\/p>\n She said people are starving and scavenging through trash heaps for food. She revealed that families often rely on relatives abroad to ship medicine because \u201cnot even the hospitals have medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n Cabello also mentioned infrastructure issues, such as prolonged power outages that cause food to spoil and limit access to water.<\/p>\n \u201cThe power is gone for so long that food spoils and water becomes scarce,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Cabello also said that if peaceful protesters speak out, they face severe consequences.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen people have peacefully protested, they have disappeared or been put behind bars, some as young as 13 years old,\u201d she said. \u201cThis is a reality where a post online costs you your life.\u201d<\/p>\n Cabello said this has led many Cubans to try to escape in search of a better life.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Cuban people have lived without dignity and without hope for too long,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s no wonder so many Cubans have thrown themselves into shark-infested waters, making boats out of tires and sticks and risking their lives for freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n Cabello said this is a \u201cprofound humanitarian crisis\u201d and urged her followers to do what they can to help the hurricane\u2019s victims.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you want to help and don\u2019t know how, check the link in my story to support Caritas Cuba and their work,\u201d she said. \u201cIf you\u2019re able to give, any donation makes a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n The post Camila Cabello Speaks Out on Cuba Crisis, Says People Are \u201cStarving\u201d and Hospitals Lack Medicine<\/a> appeared first on Where Is The Buzz | Breaking News, Entertainment, Exclusive Interviews & More<\/a>.<\/p>\n
