If you’ve ever tried to picture how massive some of fiction’s most famous structures really are, this new video from MetaBall Studios does the math for you. It’s a wild visual ride that lines up everything from the shrunken science spaces of Ant-Man and the Wasp to the cheerful absurdity of SpongeBob’s pineapple home in SpongeBob SquarePants, then keeps scaling up until reality basically taps out.

Seeing these buildings measured against New York City turns abstract numbers into something instantly understandable, and kind of jaw-dropping. That tiny cartoon house suddenly feels microscopic, while the larger sci-fi and fantasy structures start to feel genuinely intimidating.

Things escalate fast once the video hits the heavy hitters, including the planet-hauling tech of The Wandering Earth and the looming menace of Barad-dûr from The Lord of the Rings.

The comparison works so well because it sticks to a clear visual logic, as the creator explain: “In fiction, whether in movies, books, or video games, many buildings and structures of all sizes appear, some of them truly enormous.

“In this video, we compare some of them in the most coherent way possible, placing them against the backdrop of New York City to give a complete perspective of their scale.”

It’s fun, slightly mind-melting, and guaranteed to make you rethink just how big these fictional worlds really are.

If you’ve ever tried to picture how massive some of fiction’s most famous structures really are, this new…

[31
437,434,435,436,438,146,85,46
post-303663","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-arts-and-design","tag-arts","tag-arts-and-design","tag-artsanddesign","tag-artsdesign","tag-design","tag-entertainment","tag-il","tag-israel
["GET
