In an interview with Fox News, Witkoff told Lara Trump, the president\u2019s daughter-in-law, that Trump is \u201ccurious\u201d about Iran\u2019s position.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s curious as to why they haven’t … I don’t want to use the word capitulated, but why they haven’t capitulated,\u201d Witkoff said.<\/p>\n

He added that Trump is asking why, \u201cunder this sort of pressure with the amount of naval power that we have over there,\u201d Iran has not approached the United States to state it does not seek a nuclear weapon and outline what it is prepared to do.<\/p>\n

Witkoff said Trump\u2019s red lines require Iran to maintain \u201czero enrichment\u201d of uranium. He added that Iran has enriched uranium beyond levels needed for civilian purposes.<\/p>\n
