Indian<\/a> Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> will visit Israel on Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Modi will speak at the Knesset<\/a>, hold an innovation event in Jerusalem, and visit Yad Vashem, Netanyahu announced.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu, speaking at a cabinet meeting, stated that focus will be placed this coming week on the \u201cspecial relationship that has been forged over recent years between Israel and the global power that is India,\u201d the Prime Minister\u2019s Office announced.<\/p>\n

Focus will also be placed on the relationship between the two prime ministers, with Netanyahu referring to Modi as his \u201cpersonal friend\u201d and stating that they have spoken frequently on the phone and have visited each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe waded together in the waters of the Mediterranean, and much water has flowed since then in the Mediterranean, the Ganges, and the Jordan.\u201d<\/p>\n

The countries will also \u201cpromote cooperation in hi-tech<\/a>, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing,\u201d the prime minister added, saying that AI and quantum are fields where Israel aims to be among the world\u2019s leading nations.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu noted that his vision includes \u201ccreating an entire system, essentially a \u2018hexagon\u2019 of alliances around or within the Middle East, including India, Arab nations, African nations, Mediterranean nations (Greece and Cyprus), and nations in Asia that I won\u2019t detail at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

His intention is to \u201ccreate an axis of nations that see eye-to-eye on the reality, challenges, and goals against the radical axes, both the radical Shia axis, which we have struck very hard, and the emerging radical Sunni axis,\u201d said Netanyahu.<\/p>\n

Modi responded on X\/Twitter later on Sunday, saying “Thank you, my friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu.”<\/p>\n

“I fully agree with you on the bond between India and Israel as well as the diverse nature of our bilateral relations. India deeply values the enduring friendship with Israel, built on trust, innovation and a shared commitment to peace and progress.
