THE Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) reported a landmark year in 2025, securing RM78.95 billion in realised investments and creating more than 23,000 employment opportunities, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.<\/p>\n
Chairing the 35th meeting of the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority today, Anwar highlighted that the region\u2019s success reflects both strong capital inflows and the development of local talent.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year, NCER successfully produced 4,000 local talents who meet the investor and industry requirements through the NCER Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) programme,\u201d he said in a post on X.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister, who also holds the Finance portfolio, noted that the meeting considered strategic plans for 2026 and beyond, with a focus on accelerating the realisation of high-quality investments in northern Malaysia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese include several potential investments related to Kedah Rubber City (KRC) and the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) in Perlis,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Anwar added that discussions also explored initiatives to broaden the impact of investment ecosystem development along the Malaysia\u2013Thailand border and to revive the tourism competitiveness of Langkawi Island.<\/p>\n
