Hilary Duff appeared on the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast amid her press tour for her new album, \u201cLuck\u2026 or something,\u201d and confirmed a long-standing rumor that she crashed the August 2003 premiere of \u201cFreaky Friday\u201d amid a rivalry with fellow Disney star Lindsay Lohan. The duo\u2019s alleged love triangle with Aaron Carter in the early aughts made all three the targets of gossip rags and paparazzi.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think absolutely yes,\u201d Duff answered when asked about whether she crashed the \u201cFreaky Friday\u201d premiere. \u201cI was a teenager!\u201d<\/p>\n

On the flip side, Duff said she was not surprised at all when months later Lohan showed up at the December 2023 premiere of Duff\u2019s movie \u201cCheaper by the Dozen.\u201d Duff added: \u201cI mean, that was like my childhood feud\u2026 like my nemesis\u2026 it\u2019s so many years later, like who cares?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt does not matter,\u201d Duff continued. \u201cAlso, Lindsay came up to me at a club once and was like, \u2018Are we good?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018We\u2019re good.\u2019 She was like, \u2018Let\u2019s take a shot.\u2019 I was like, \u2018OK.’\u201d<\/p>\n
While Duff knew she was stirring the pot by attending Lohan\u2019s \u201cFreaky Friday\u201d premiere, she added: \u201cI don\u2019t want to start any more stuff, but like [Chad Michael Murray] was like, \u2018You should come with me.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Mhm, probably I should.\u2019 I mean, what was I, like sixteen? No, I was younger than that\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
At the time of the \u201cFreaky Friday\u201d premiere, Duff was well into her run as a Disney Channel icon thanks to the success of \u201cLizzie McGuire.\u201d She made the jump to movies with \u201cThe Lizzie McGuire Movie,\u201d which opened in May 2023 before \u201cFreaky Friday.\u201d Lohan, meanwhile, was already a child star thanks to 1998\u2019s \u201cThe Parent Trap\u201d and her Disney television movies \u201cLife Size\u201d and \u201cGet a Clue.\u201d<\/p>\n
