{"id":312363,"date":"2026-02-27T03:41:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T03:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/312363\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T03:41:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T03:41:08","slug":"tracey-emin-overwhelmed-by-reaction-to-largest-ever-retrospective-of-her-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/312363\/","title":{"rendered":"Tracey Emin \u2018overwhelmed\u2019 by reaction to largest-ever retrospective of her work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dame <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/tracey-emin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Tracey Emin;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Tracey Emin<\/a> has said she is \u201coverwhelmed\u201d by the response to the <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/tracey-emin-calls-donations-wealthy-120908038.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:largest-ever retrospective of her art,;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">largest-ever retrospective of her art,<\/a> which is going on display at London\u2019s Tate Modern gallery from Friday, 27 February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The exhibition, called Second Life, looks back at one of Britain\u2019s most celebrated artists across her 40-year career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It brings together more than 100 works encompassing painting, video, textile, neon, sculpture, and installation, and will look at how Dame Tracey has used the \u201cfemale body as a powerful tool to explore passion, pain, and healing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Speaking ahead of the exhibition\u2019s launch, Dame Tracey said: I&#8217;m quite overwhelmed by it all, simply because it is like a second life for me. I never in a million years imagined the reality of this situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cEspecially five years ago, when I was diagnosed with&#8230; a cancer that couldn&#8217;t be cured, it could only be cut away. I really do believe that the cancer that was cut away was a lot of bad that was inside me.
