The IDF<\/a> carried out strikes against the Al-Qard Al-Hasan Association, which funds Hezbollah<\/a> terrorists throughout Lebanon, the military confirmed on Monday.<\/p>\n

Al-Qard Al-Hasan has been operating as a “key civilian financial institution in Lebanon<\/a>,” but leverages civilian funds to support Hezbollah<\/a> terror activity.<\/p>\n

The funds provided by the association allow Hezbollah terrorists to purchase weapons and weapon production materials, as well as funding terrorist salary payments, the IDF noted.<\/p>\n

The Al-Qard Al-Hasan Association has been under US sanctions since 2007, and other international sanctions for its role in financing the terror organization, the IDF told military reporters.<\/p>\n

The strikes targeted Hezbollah’s financial reserves in the association’s branches, which were a significant financial infrastructure for the organization’s terror funding.<\/p>\n

The military estimates that Hezbollah will need billions of dollars in the coming years to aid in the recovery process for the damage Israel did to it since October 2023.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah is economically dependent on Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – Quds Force, taking responsibility for transferring funds via Syria. The fall of the Assad regime in December 2024 caused a halt to transfers via Syria, requiring the IRGC-QF to transfer funds over flights from Iran to Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Recently, IRGC-QF has used money launderers in intermediary countries, including Turkey, to facilitate this, the IDF told reporters.<\/p>\n
