Bruce Campbell has news about his health.<\/p>\n

The Evil Dead star said he’s been diagnosed with “a type of cancer that’s ‘treatable’ not ‘curable.'”<\/p>\n

“I apologize if that’s a shock\u2014it was to me too,” Bruce wrote in a statement shared on X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) March 2. “The good news is, I’m not gonna go into any more detail. I’m posting this, because professionally, a few things will have to change\u2014appearances and cons and work in general need to take back seat to treatment.”<\/p>\n

Calling his cancer journey an “opportunity,” the 67-year-old said the plan is to “get as well as I possibly can over the summer,” resulting in him pulling out of several scheduled appearance at fan conventions.<\/p>\n

“Big regrets on my part,” he continued. “Treatment needs and professional obligations don’t always go hand-in-hand.”<\/p>\n

Explaining that he was going public with his diagnosis not to “enlist sympathy” but to “get ahead of this information in case false information gets out,” Bruce assured fans to “fear not” over his condition.<\/p>\n
