\n\tRyan Gosling<\/a>\u2018s press junket for \u201cProject Hail Mary<\/a>\u201d took a wildly unexpected turn after WFLD-TV Chicago (Fox 32) reporter Jake Hamilton was forced to interview the Oscar nominee on video while stranded on the side of the road. Hamilton, who publishes video interviews on his \u201cJake\u2019s Takes\u201d YouTube page, was on his way back from the Grand Canyon in order to attend the press junket when his bus broke down, causing him to miss the Gosling interview in person.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAre you in a volcano?\u201d Gosling asked when he discovered Hamilton was conducting the interview while outside in rocky terrain. \u201cYou look like\u00a0Tom Cruise\u00a0in\u00a0\u2018Mission Impossible,\u2019 the one where he\u2019s climbing!\u2026 This is amazing. I don\u2019t want you to be stranded, but the production value on this\u2026 Do you technically need a permit to shoot there? It\u2019s like you\u2019re doing a Western!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHamilton tried to redirect the interview back to \u201cProject Hail Mary,\u201d but Gosling could not shake the absurdity of what was going on and asked: \u201cDo you have help on the way?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s going to be about an hour,\u201d Hamilton informed Gosling about how much longer he\u2019d be stranded while flipping the camera around to show the broken down bus on the side of the road and other passengers waiting around for help. \u201cSo, I don\u2019t know how long you got to talk to me, but I\u2019ve got about an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHold on, let\u2019s just\u2026 First things first, do you have water? Are you staying hydrated?\u201d Gosling asked, to which Hamilton said that he did have water. \u201cYou sure? You\u2019re sure you have enough water for everyone? Because that could get ugly\u2026 I am worried about your hydration. You got a power bar?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir, \u201cProject Hail Mary\u201d stars Gosling as school teacher Ryland Grace, who wakes up alone on a spaceship light-years away from Earth with no recollection of how he got there. As his memory recovers, he pieces together an outlandish plot that sent him through the galaxy to stop a mysterious entity from blacking out the sun. The film is directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord and co-stars Sandra H\u00fcller.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI definitely want to hear that you got out of this,\u201d Gosling told Hamilton when their interview came to an end.
