Time spent memorising textbooks could be freed up to cultivate creativity and imagination, according to the founder of <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/alibaba?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Alibaba,<\/a> which also owns the South China Morning Post.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Present at the meeting were Alibaba chairman Joe Tsai, CEO Eddie Wu Yongming, e-commerce business group CEO Jiang Fan, Ant chairman Eric Jing Xiandong and Ant CEO Cyril Han Xinyi, collectively reflecting the companies\u2019 confidence in AI advancement. Ant is the fintech affiliate of Alibaba<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The meeting involved dozens of teachers at the school in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province where Alibaba is based.
