(Photo courtesy: Hawai\u2018i County)<\/p>\n<p>The Laup\u0101hoehoe Recycling and Transfer Station will reopen Friday following the completion of a $2.57 million improvement project.<\/p>\n<p>Performed by Isemoto Contracting, the project involved installing a new chute with a canopy, repaving, replacement of the retaining wall, installation of a concrete swale and water retention system, and a new concrete pad, according to a news release from Hawai\u2018i County.<\/p>\n<p>The transfer station was closed for about 10 months while the improvements were made.<\/p>\n<p>ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW ADARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD<\/p>\n<p>To compensate for the closure, the county temporarily expanded hours at the neighboring Honom\u016b Recycling and Transfer Station, which will return to its normal operating schedule on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>See the updated schedules for both transfer stations below.<\/p>\n<p>Laup\u0101hoehoe Recycling and Transfer Station Schedule (effective March 6):<\/p>\n<p>ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD<\/p>\n<p>Monday: Closed<br \/>Tuesday: Open 6 a.m.-6 p.m.<br \/>Wednesday: Closed<br \/>Thursday: Closed<br \/>Friday: Open 6 a.m.-6 p.m.<br \/>Saturday: Closed<br \/>Sunday: Open 6 a.m.-6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Recycling services at Laup\u0101hoehoe include bins for glass, cardboard and brown paper, scrap metal, and whitegoods.<\/p>\n<p>Honom\u016b Recycling and Transfer Station Schedule (effective March 5):<\/p>\n<p>ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD<\/p>\n<p>Monday: Open 6 a.m.-6 p.m.<br \/>Tuesday: Closed<br \/>Wednesday: Closed<br \/>Thursday: Open 6 a.m.-6 p.m.<br \/>Friday: Closed<br \/>Saturday: Open 6 a.m.-6 p.m.<br \/>Sunday: Closed<\/p>\n<p>Recycling services at Honom\u016b include bins for glass and cardboard and brown paper.
