AFP                 <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph  \">A brief dogfight played out in the skies over Tehran on the morning of Wednesday, March 4. An Israeli F-35 fighter jet, flying as part of a bombing run on the Iranian capital, climbed above the clouds, veering away from an enemy Yak-130 fighter, which had drawn close enough for the pilot to see. The Iranian aircraft was then quickly shot down. Where had it taken off from? Israel bombed the runways at the military airports in Tabriz, Shiraz and Kish Island on the first day of the war, Saturday, February 28, rendering them unusable and also destroying both aircraft and radar installations. By Sunday, March 1, at 9:15 am, the Israeli military considered their air route to the capital city clear. On Wednesday, it claimed to have full control of the airspace over Tehran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph  \">While the American air forces concentrate their firepower on Iran&#8217;s western provinces and its missile launchers, Israel has struck a wide range of sites across the country. However, Israeli aviation has remained focused on Tehran, relentlessly bombing the city in order to break the Islamic Republic of Iran&#8217;s internal security establishment, aiming to open the floodgates for a popular uprising that could topple the regime after the war.<\/p>\n<p class=\"reading-mode-only \">You have 81.05% of this article left to read.
