Air raid sirens sounded Friday morning in central Israel, the Sharon region and parts of Judea and Samaria after Iran launched missiles toward the country for the first time in about 11 hours.<\/p>\n

Loud explosions were heard across the area as air defenses responded to the barrage. Initial indications suggested that impacts occurred in open areas.<\/p>\n

Emergency responders later reported minor damage to several buildings in Tel Aviv and nearby Givatayim caused by interceptor debris, according to the Magen David Adom emergency service.<\/p>\n

Police said officers were handling several impact sites involving weapons fragments across the Tel Aviv district.<\/p>\n

Eran Glazer, an eyewitness to the impact in Givatayim, told ynet: \u201cIt was a calm Friday in the neighborhood, and suddenly there was a very loud noise. From inside the shelter, we felt a huge boom that shook the building. When we came down, we saw the damage very close to the school. It\u2019s very troubling \u2014 but we are strong, we will win, and everything will be fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIsrael Police officers are currently dealing with several scenes involving munitions debris within the district,\u201d police said in a statement. <\/p>\n

\u201cResidents are urged to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command, remain in protected spaces as needed and avoid approaching or touching debris that may contain explosive materials.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Home Front Command later said civilians could leave protected spaces following the attack.<\/p>\n

Magen David Adom said that a woman in her 20s was lightly injured in Givatayim during the missile barrage and was evacuated to Sheba Medical Center for treatment. Another woman in her 50s was injured while on her way to a protected shelter in the city of Beit Shemesh. Medical teams were providing her treatment.<\/p>\n

Separately, rocket sirens were activated in several communities near the Lebanese border, including Zar’it, Even Menachem and Shomera in the Galilee region.<\/p>\n

A rocket alert was also activated in Netiv HaAsara near the Gaza Strip. Shortly afterward, the IDF said the alert was triggered by a false identification.
