The 36-year-old is the favourite to win the Academy Award for Best Actress following her standout performance as the grief-stricken Agnes Hathaway in Chloe Zhao\u2019s Hamnet<\/a>. <\/p>\n Buckley made her initial cat comments on the Happy Sad Confused podcast three months ago, but in a sure sign that the internet never forgets, they began gaining scrutiny online on Thursday, the final day of Oscars<\/a> voting. <\/p>\n In the original interview, the star \u2013 speaking alongside her Hamnet co-star Paul Mescal \u2013 said: \u201cMy husband, when I started dating him, he had two cats\u2026 This is bad as well. I\u2019m gonna get cancelled.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the cats was like a pedigree model bitch, and she staged a coup against me. I\u2019d come home, and there\u2019d just be poo on my pillow. And I was like, \u2018it\u2019s me or the cats\u2019. I woke up this morning to the world thinking that I really don\u2019t love cats. It\u2019s really weighed on me all day… I felt sick.\u201d<\/p>\n Alluding to the online furore, Buckley said \u201cthere\u2019s been a misconception because of an interview that I did\u201d, adding: \u201cI want to tell cat people that I actually auditioned to be a cat once.
