Jennifer Lopez is getting loud about her and Marc Anthony\u2019s split.<\/p>\n
The singer, who shares 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with the Vivir Mi Vida singer, opened up about how difficult it was to overcome their divorce in 2014 following 10 years of marriage.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter my third divorce, that\u2019s when I really started getting good at it,\u201d Lopez initially joked during her Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, as seen in footage from @jpasc24<\/a>\u2019s Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cSeriously, that\u2019s not funny,\u201d the Grammy nominee continued, before explaining that \u201cit was actually a really tough time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was really about to give up on it all. I mean, I was a single mum with two 3-year-old twins and I called up one of my mentors,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n \u201cHer name was Louise Hay. Some of you might know who she was. She passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n The self-help author was instrumental in guiding Lopez through the rough moments.<\/p>\n \u201cShe said to me, \u2018Jennifer, you\u2019re a dancer, right?\u2019\u201d the artist recounted. \u201cI said, \u2018Yes, I am.\u2019 And she said, \u2018When you\u2019re learning a dance, and you get the steps wrong, what do you do?\u2019 I said, \u2018I just keep going until I get the steps right.\u2019 And she said, \u2018That\u2019s right, Jennifer. Always keep dancing.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I wish the same for every last one of you,\u201d mused Lopez, \u201cthat no matter what life throws at you, that you dance, and you dance, and you dance \u2013 again, and again, and again. I love you so much!\u201d<\/p>\n During her live performance, the Let\u2019s Get Loud crooner, who\u2019s had four failed marriages, also gave a poignant piece of advice to all the men out there.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know what fellas,\u201d she stated. \u201cI\u2019m going to let you in on a little something since we\u2019re here and I love the fellas so much, I\u2019m going to tell you a little secret.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWomen don\u2019t need much!\u201d Lopez divulged. \u201cIt is true. We need very little. All we need from you is a little bit of sugar. That\u2019s it. You give us a little bit of sugar, sweetness, kindness, and we will give you so much in return.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMen do a lot,\u201d she concurred. \u201cWe just do so much more! Do I really need to spell it out for you?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been saying it for years,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s not about the money. I don\u2019t want your stuff. Get out of there please. It really is simple. People look at me and they see me with my sparkly mic and they think that I am expensive.\u201d<\/p>\n And they wouldn\u2019t be wrong, according to the hit maker.<\/p>\n \u201cI am,\u201d she exclaimed. \u201cI am expensive. But I brought my own mic, OK? I don\u2019t need you to buy me nothing. Ladies, do we them to buy us anything? No!\u201d<\/p>\n Lopez has kept up a positive outlook on dating and marriage despite a tumultuous love life dating back to the \u201990s.<\/p>\n She first tied the knot with Ojani Noa in 1997, but they split in 1998. She then went on to marry Cris Judd in 2001.<\/p>\n However, Lopez filed for divorce from the dancer in July 2002, after just nine months of marriage.<\/p>\n She then met Ben Affleck that same year, with the two getting engaged in November 2002. Though, the former flames broke off their engagement in 2004.<\/p>\n But years later, in April 2021, the pair rekindled their romance before walking down the isle in 2022. By August 2024, however, Lopez had filed for divorce.<\/p>\n \u201cShe tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken,\u201d a source told People<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n In an October 2024 conversation with Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine<\/a>, Lopez told the comedian that she doesn\u2019t regret the pain that came along with splitting from the actor.<\/p>\n \u201cNot one second,\u201d she confessed. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t mean it didn\u2019t almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, \u2018F***, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I\u2019m sorry it took me so long.
