<\/p>\nA famous rock singer revealed she\u2019s been in a relationship with her bandmate for more than two decades.<\/p>\n
Halestorm members Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger performed at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday. Before performing \u201cThe Silence,\u201d Hale told the audience why they never talked about dating publicly.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor those of you who have just met us, I know there\u2019s a lot of different dynamics and things, but Joe and I are together, and we have been for 22 years,\u201d Hale said. \u201cLike Joe was saying earlier in the night, when we met, we had never met anyone like each other.\u201c<\/p>\n
\u201cYou actually wanna sit till four in the morning and manifest our dreams and make them into reality. And so we were hanging out all the time and I\u2019m, like, \u2018Man, it sucks that he\u2019s in the band.\u2019 That\u2019s a big no-no. Like Joe said, you don\u2019t wanna [end up like] Fleetwood Mac. What you wanna do is Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo\u201a” she added, referring to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame couple who\u2019s been married and performing together for more than four decades.<\/p>\n

According to Blabbermouth<\/a>, some Halestorm fans have known or suspected the relationship for years, though the couple didn\u2019t speak about it openly. Hale once responded to a fan question about whether she\u2019d get married to Hottinger during a Twitter Q&A in 2020, and said \u201ctechnically I was asked\u201d but said she didn\u2019t want to get married because she\u2019s \u201cliving a #newmodernlove.\u201d Hale has also previously talked on social media about being bisexual.<\/p>\n Hale co-founded Halestorm with her brother, drummer Aejay Hale, in 1997. Hottinger joined on guitar and backing vocals in 2003, and things quickly turned romantic with Lzzy Hale.<\/p>\n \u201c…You can\u2019t predict those things. So we had these very adult conversations, like, \u2018Well, if we\u2026\u2019 \u2018Cause we were very immaturely flirting. We were flirting, but pretending we\u2019re not,” she said Thursday. \u201cBut no, we made the decision, we\u2019re, like, \u2018If we don\u2019t try this, then we could be losing out on something too.\u2019 Because I will tell you over the last 22 years, there is nothing like having all of these firsts and chasing your dream, doing the thing that you love with the person you love.\u201d<\/p>\n Halestorm<\/p>\n Halestorm, who previously performed at K-Rockathon<\/a>, is a Grammy-winning rock band that released its first album in 2009.
