FTC shuts down the company<\/p>\n
The FTC shut down Profitable Automation and won a court judgment of $20 million from the owners. But that is taking time to collect.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s no way of finding out what the status is on the case, so it\u2019s been pending,\u201d Greg Koehn said.<\/p>\n
The retirees do not know if FTC action against the company will recover their investment money.<\/p>\n
Lois Koehn said the loss has hit hard.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was always in the ministry, he never took much money for anything. I worked at Central High School for 30 years, so it\u2019s not like we have a big retirement,\u201d Lois Koehn said.<\/p>\n
The couple depends on Social Security, which only goes so far.<\/p>\n
Waiting and hoping<\/p>\n
The couple must wait on the FTC to receive and release any refund money from the online store settlement.<\/p>\n
\u201cNobody communicates with us. We\u2019re at our wits\u2019 end on what we can do,\u201d Greg Koehn said.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, the Koehns are not able to buy a newer car. Their current vehicle has 160,000 miles on it.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust pray we can recover those funds,\u201d Greg Koehn said.<\/p>\n
