Now that Apple’s product launch cadence has seemingly slowed down for the time being after the marathon that was last week, which saw the unveiling of the iPhone 17e<\/a>, the M4 iPad Air<\/a>, the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro<\/a>, the Studio Display and the Studio Display XDR<\/a>, and the all-important MacBook Neo<\/a>, attention is predictably turning to Apple’s next major product launch volley in the fall of 2026, which would likely entail the iPhone Fold<\/a> along with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As such, a new report out of Taiwan has just demonstrated Apple’s sunny optimism around the success of the iPhone Fold by detailing a 20 percent hike in the initial production targets for the new device.<\/p>\n

Apple has reportedly hiked its initial sales projections for the iPhone Fold<\/p>\n

According to a report by Taiwan’s Economic Daily, Apple appears to have ordered a 20 percent hike<\/a> in the targeted initial inventory of the iPhone Fold, benefitting Foxconn in its capacity as the device’s primary assembler.<\/p>\n

According to the report, Apple has revised the design of the iPhone Fold over 10 times in the past five years or so. What’s more, with the device all set for a debut in the fall, the production of its key components will ramp up from the end of the second quarter.<\/p>\n

This comes as a notable tipster has just shared the CAD renderings of the iPhone Fold, showing its passport-like design in unprecedented detail.<\/p>\n

As per previous reports, the Apple iPhone Fold will reportedly feature a ‘liquid metal’ hinge<\/a> and a titanium body, with the combo offering improved strength and weight distribution.<\/p>\n

The iPhone Fold is expected to feature a\u00a0passport-style, wide form factor<\/a>, with its primary panel measuring ~7.7 inches, and the cover display measuring ~5.4 inches. It will also sport a near-creaseless design, with the Economic Times detailing today that the depth of the crease would be a minuscule 0.15mm. This would likely require a copious use of the Ultra-thin Flexible Glass (UFG) tech<\/a> that Apple is said to have tested extensively, as well as a modified hinge mechanism.<\/p>\n

Apple is also reportedly planning to apply a color filter – called the\u00a0COE or Color Filter on Encapsulation<\/a> – onto the protective encapsulation layer of the iPhone Fold’s OLED panel, rendering the resulting displays lighter and much more efficient.<\/p>\n
