Singer delivers rendition of \u201cEverybody Wants to Rule the World\u201d for BBC Radio1 Live Lounge<\/p>\n
\n\tEverybody wants to rule the world, and everybody wants to cover Tears for Fears<\/a>, including Harry Styles<\/a>. The singer took breaks from both kissing and disco recently when he made an appearance at BBC Radio1 Live Lounge to perform one of Tears for Fears<\/a>\u2018 Songs From the Big Chair.<\/p>\n \n\tStyles rendition is reverent to the original, first released in 1985. It opens with the opening guitar ostinato before the groove kicks in and Styles, dressed in a variety of neutrals, starts dancing in a circle of synthesizers. Styles struggles to stay on pitch a little in the middle, but hey, it\u2019s a hard song to sing and the nifty trumpet embellishments, skittery jazz-fusion guitar solo, and Styles\u2019 own charisma bring it all home.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tStyles\u2019 Live Lounge appearance<\/a> also found him performing four songs from his fourth solo album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally<\/a>: \u201cAperture,\u201d \u201cAmerican Girls,\u201d \u201cDance No More,\u201d and \u201cCarla\u2019s Song.\u201d Styles fans should expect to hear all of those on his upcoming residency tour<\/a>. At a recent performance in Manchester<\/a>, filmed for Netflix, Styles performed the full album but no cover songs.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cEverybody Wants to Rule the World\u201d arrived late during the making of Tears for Fears\u2019 Songs From the Big Chair. \u201cWe were really discussing the Cold War,\u201d the band\u2019s Curt Smith has said of the song. They had to argue with their record label to get the company to make it a single. The song placed at Number 319 on Rolling Stone\u2019s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time<\/a>, but it\u2019s been a favorite for many artists.
