The future of Princess Beatrice<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Princess Eugenie<\/a>\u00a0has been a hotly debated topic ever since the arrest of their father, the former Prince Andrew. Andrew, who was arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office, and their mother, Sarah Ferguson<\/a>, both feature prominently in the Epstein files. And that means that the two find themselves in a very complicated situation, as the British royal family moves to separate itself from the two.<\/p>\n

But the two won\u2019t have to move. The Times<\/a> is reporting that a long-standing deal between the Yorks and the King means they can keep renting their properties within royal grounds, even if their parents were evicted from Royal Lodge.<\/p>\n

The deal reportedly requires the sisters to pay an undisclosed sum of rent for the properties, which serve as a London base for the two.<\/p>\n

Beatrice has an apartment in St James\u2019 Palace, though she mainly lives in Oxfordshire\u00a0with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and their two daughters: Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1. Beatrice is also stepmother to Wolfie, 9, from her husband\u2019s previous relationship.<\/p>\n

Eugenie, meanwhile, has Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom property located at Kensington Palace. She, however, spends most of her time at her Portugal home with her husband Jack Brooksbank, and their two children: August, 5, and Ernest, 2.<\/p>\n

Last year,\u00a0The Mail on Sunday<\/a> reported that Andrew had previously rented a four-bedroom apartment in St James\u2019 Palace for his daughters for \u00a31,600 a month, well below what the property would go for in the open market. It is unclear if Beatrice and Eugenie are now paying the rent of their royal properties or what that rent might be, as rental agreements between members of the royal family are not available to the public.<\/p>\n

All of this comes as reports that the two will lose a lot of their privileges as the monarchy shrinks in the future. Royal writer Richard Palmer told\u00a0Mirror<\/a>, In my view, in the future, they will end up losing their royal titles.\u201d He also added, \u201cI think we\u2019re going to see a lot less of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two were reportedly told recently that they would not be invited to the Royal Ascot, which Palmer says is only the beginning. And it\u2019s not even all about the scandal with their parents. \u201cBeing princesses who are non-working royals is confusing for people already because they have titles but they don\u2019t do anything for the monarchy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey don\u2019t do anything for the nation,\u201d he also said. \u201cThey\u2019re essentially just private individuals who get privileges of being members of the royal family,\u201d he explained, adding that they are\u00a0\u201cprobably going to have to say goodbye to some of those privileges.\u201d<\/p>\n

RadarOnline<\/a>\u00a0had previously reported that Beatrice and Eugenie<\/a> were \u201cshattered\u201d by\u00a0Andrew\u2019s arrest<\/a>. \u201cEach fresh Epstein disclosure feels like a fresh blow for the sisters,\u201d a source said. \u201cJust when they think the worst of it might be behind them, something else surfaces and drags it all back into the spotlight. It\u2019s completely emotionally exhausting for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

And they\u2019re reportedly planning ahead. \u201cThere\u2019s embarrassment, yes, but also a great deal of sadness. At the same time, they\u2019re realistic. They understand that how they respond now, the choices they make, the company they keep, and the image they project will shape their long-term standing. They\u2019re thinking carefully about every step.\u201d<\/p>\n
