Marlon Wayans is putting up a \u201cdefensive run-stopping front\u201d after his latest film received negative reviews from critics. <\/p>\n
The actor took to his Instagram<\/a> account over the weekend to promote his latest film, \u201cHIM,\u201d which hit the big screen Friday, and told fans to form their own opinions on the project. The movie currently holds a 29% score with critics on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cAn opinion does not always mean it\u2019s everyone\u2019s opinion. Some movies are ahead of the curve,\u201d Wayans said. \u201cInnovation is not always embraced and art is to be interpreted and it\u2019s subjective.\u201d<\/p>\n The post include screen grabs from the Rotten Tomatoes pages of his other movies that have been classified \u201crotten\u201d by the website but were later embraced by audiences like 2004\u2019s \u201cWhite Chicks,\u201d the first two films in the \u201cScary Movie\u201d franchise, 2013\u2019s \u201cA Haunted House\u201d and 1996\u2019s \u201cDon\u2019t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.\u201d The post ends with a screen grab of the \u201cHIM\u201d Rotten Tomatoes page.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve had a career of making classic movies that weren\u2019t critically received and those movies went on to be CLASSICS.
