\n\tBeijing-based sales company Hugoeast<\/a> has revealed its lineup at the Hong Kong FilMart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tHeading up the slate is feature film \u201cShanghai Wonton,\u201d produced by Shanghai Artown Film and directed by Wu Tiange.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film follows retired engineer Lao Wang, who lives a quiet life in Shanghai and shares a weekly ritual with his son, who returns home every Saturday for a bowl of homemade wontons. Hoping to help his son settle down, Lao Wang visits the city\u2019s famous marriage market, where unexpected encounters lead him on an emotional journey of his own.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film won the Shanghai Film of the Year prize at this year\u2019s Shanghai Film Critics Awards, and has grossed over RMB30 million ($4.35 million) at the Chinese box office since its release in December 2025<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso in the lineup is the documentary feature \u201cSlow Road to Hainan,\u201d directed by Fu Jin and He Lei.<\/p>\n

\n\tSet along Hainan\u2019s slow-paced Coastal Highway, the film captures fishing villages in transition as environmental awareness and changing livelihoods reshape the identity of the villagers for good.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the producers, \u201cSlow Road to Hainan\u201d offers a poetic portrait of communities navigating the delicate balance between tradition, nature and sustainable ways of life.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe title is new to market, and currently in production with an expected release in the second quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tFounded in 2016, Hugoeast has carved a niche for itself as a purveyor of arthouse films and documentaries by Chinese directors, with a focus on female-themed films.
