In addition to unveiling the Find N6 foldable flagship<\/a>, Oppo is launching a new watch today, the Oppo Watch X3. It\u2019s a circular watch that upgrades the Watch X2<\/a> formula from last year \u2013 it slims down the body and adds continuous glucose monitoring to the mix.<\/p>\n

The X3 is made of TC4 titanium alloy<\/a>, which is used in the aerospace industry and in medical applications for implants thanks to its excellent corrosion resistance. The redesigned watch strap has \u201cbamboo joints\u201d, metal connectors in between segments of fluororubber.<\/p>\n

Oppo Watch X3<\/p>\n

The display is protected by sapphire glass with a Mohs hardness scale rating of \u201c8+\u201d (sapphire is normally rated at 9). The display itself is a 1.5\u201d LTPO OLED panel with 466 x 466px resolution like last year. The new display is 36% brighter, however, reaching a peak of 3,000 nits (up from 2,200 nits).<\/p>\n

Oppo claims that the Watch X3 is 16% lighter and 6.4% thinner than its predecessor. To put that into more concrete numbers, the watch has a diameter of 47.4mm and a thickness of 11.0mm and it weighs 43g. For comparison, the Watch X2 was 47.6mm in diameter, was 11.8mm thick and weighed 49.7g.<\/p>\n

Slimming down did not come at the cost of battery \u2013 the 646mAh cell is effectively the same size as last year. It can last 3 days under heavy use, 5 days of normal operation and up to 16 days in battery saver mode. The battery charges at 7.5W and needs 75 minutes to reach 100%. If you are in a hurry, however, a 10 minute charge is enough to last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

The new body also didn\u2019t impact the watch\u2019s toughness \u2013 it\u2019s rated for 5ATM water resistance, has an IP68 rating and now even an IP69 rating (for protection against high-pressure water jets).<\/p>\n

The upgraded sensor suite features a glucose meter \u2013 this can provide real-time readings as well as alert you to any anomalies. The watch can also monitor your blood pressure and assess your risk of hypertension.<\/p>\n

This is on top of the features from the X2 like ECG, vascular health readings, heart rate and blood-oxygen tracking, sleep quality assessment with sleep apnea detection and a wrist temperature sensor.<\/p>\n

As usual, the Oppo Watch X3 has presets for over 100 sports. It can measure VO2 Max, lactate threshold, recovery time, aerobic training effect, heart rate recovery rate and has an AI coach. Dual-band GPS (L1+L5), BeiDou, Galileo and GLONASS provide accurate positioning for outdoor exercise.<\/p>\n

For connectivity, the watch has 4G (eSIM), dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2. NFC is also available for access cards and public transport, but we\u2019ll have to wait for the exact NFC specs on the global version.<\/p>\n

The official specs say that the watch is powered by the Snapdragon W5 chipset, but they don\u2019t make it clear whether that is the original chip<\/a> like on the X2 or the recent W5 Gen 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oppo Watch X3 in: Global Star Orange \u2022 Gravity Black \u2022 Infinite Titanium<\/p>\n

The Oppo Watch X3 is currently available for pre-order on Oppo\u2019s online store<\/a> in China. You can have it in Global Star Orange, Gravity Black or Infinite Titanium. Note that the Gravity Black version has a regular fluororubber strap, while the other two use the \u201cbamboo joint\u201d strap.<\/p>\n

This also means that the Gravity Black is a bit cheaper \u2013 CNY 2,600 normally, CNY 2,210 during the early bird period. The other two are CNY 2,800 normally and down to CNY 2,380 while pre-orders last (open sales start on the 20th). Details on a global release to follow.<\/p>\n
