During the Miss Universe 2025 pageant<\/a>, Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry suffered a devastating fall<\/a> that resulted in a fracture and intracranial hemorrhage. <\/p>\n

The event occurred in November 2025, and now, four months later, Henry has finally been released from the hospital, but remains under \u201cclose medical watch and care,\u201d PEOPLE reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has not yet returned to active Miss Universe Jamaica duties, therefore, no interviews nor official appearances are currently on her itinerary,\u201d The Gleaner, Mark McDermoth and Karl Williams, who are organizers for the Miss Jamaica pageant, said in a statement. <\/p>\n

Gabrielle Henry Shared An Update In February <\/p>\n

On February 13, Henry shared two photos of herself in a hospital bed, as well as one showing her on a bike as part of rehab. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis season has redefined restoration and renewal for me,\u201d she began. \u201cAt a time when I wanted only to represent Jamaica at my fullest, I faced the most unexpected injury of my life. It shifted everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to describe how this fall has taught her more about herself and it\u2019s helped \u201cuncover a depth of strength you did not know you possessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy greatest strength has been in choosing to rise, even while I am still on the journey,\u201d she continued. \u201cI am deeply grateful to the healthcare professionals who continue to guide me forward. From neurosurgeons and neurologists to nurses and physiotherapists, in Thailand and in Jamaica, each has played a vital role. Their care, precision, and steady encouragement have sustained me through moments of uncertainty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miss Universe Organization Covered All Medical Expenses For Gabrielle Henry<\/p>\n

In a press release<\/a> shared by the Miss Universe Organization in December, they, along with Henry\u2019s family issued an update. But in that, the organization also made sure to emphasize how they have supported Henry throughout this devastating time.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the time the incident took place, the Miss Universe Organization has stood beside Gabrielle and her family as if she were their own, assuming full and immediate responsibility without hesitation,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe Organization has covered all hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for Dr. Henry\u2019s mother and sister, who have remained by her side throughout this difficult period. In addition, the Miss Universe Organization is funding the medically escorted repatriation flight arranged by the hospital and has committed to covering all future medical expenses arising from this incident.\u201d<\/p>\n
