Jon Stewart<\/a> on Thursday invited Elon Musk<\/a> to join his \u201cWeekly Show<\/a>\u201d podcast, but only after torching the tech billionaire over his rhetoric on alleged voter fraud<\/a> from undocumented workers \u2014 and the supposed danger they pose to U.S. elections.<\/p>\n

Stewart made microscopic mincemeat of Musk during this week\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s talk about the artist formerly known as Twitter,\u201d Stewart said<\/a>. \u201cAnd this gets us to the crux of the irony. Elon Musk, for a long time and really incredibly consistently and vehemently, has pushed this idea that undocumented noncitizen voting is rampant.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cHe\u2019s tweeted about it, I think 1,300 times or interacted with stories about it. The irony of it all is that this guy\u2019s platform, this guy\u2019s algorithm, which he is in charge of, I see his shit on my feed all the time, I don\u2019t ever interact with it, there\u2019s no reason for it to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stewart went on to argue that the billionaire X owner has impacted U.S. politics more than \u201cundocumented noncitizen voting\u201d ever will, arguing that Musk continues the \u201cwarping of our democracy\u201d by modifying the X algorithm and using his unparalleled wealth to his benefit.<\/p>\n

Musk donated more than a quarter billion dollars<\/a> to help elect President Donald Trump<\/a> in 2024 and acquired Twitter, now X, for $44 billion in 2022<\/a>. He has since frequently tinkered with its algorithm, affecting what users see in their feeds, to many curious results<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The world\u2019s richest man nonetheless took umbrage Thursday after spotting a clip on his own platform of Stewart\u2019s comments, writing<\/a>, \u201cJon Stewart is an extremely skilled propagandist disguised as a truth-teller.\u201d Musk later added<\/a>, \u201cHe is a great comedian too.\u201d<\/p>\n

The duo went on to trade some passive-aggressive barbs.<\/p>\n

Stewart returned the insult by quoting his post and writing<\/a>, \u201cElon Musk is an extremely skilled propagandist.\u201d He stopped there, suggesting Musk isn\u2019t disguised as anything, which the disgruntled billionaire didn\u2019t seem to catch.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot as good as you!\u201d Musk replied<\/a>. \u201cStop being so humble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk has long amplified a conspiracy theory about Democrats<\/a> \u201cimporting\u201d undocumented workers<\/a> to win elections and to replace white people. Whether he\u2019ll debate this with someone other than a sycophant<\/a> is unlikely, though Stewart would certainly love to.<\/p>\n
