RM<\/a> has sprained his ankle ahead of the giant BTS<\/a> comeback concert tonight (March 21).<\/p>\n

The K-Pop giants are set to return to the stage at Gwanghwamun Square, in front of the historic Gyeongbokgung palace in Seoul, South Korea, later today, following the release of their fifth studio album \u2018Arirang<\/a>\u2018, yesterday (March 20).<\/p>\n

It will be their first concert as a complete group since October 2022, after all seven members completed South Korea\u2019s mandatory military service. The show will also be livestreamed on Netflix to more than 190 countries<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, news has broken that RM sprained his ankle ahead of the event. The group\u2019s label, Big Hit, announced the news in a Weverse post, saying that the injury was sustained during rehearsals.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn March 19, RM suffered an ankle injury and was taken to a hospital to undergo a detailed examination and treatment,\u201d they wrote. The label explained that \u201ca medical diagnosis confirmed a sprain of the accessory navicular, a partial ligament tear, and a talus contusion (which includes ligament damage and inflammation).\u201d<\/p>\n

Due to the injury, RM will have to \u201cwear a cast and strictly limit movement for a minimum of two weeks to concentrate solely on his recovery,\u201d according to the post.<\/p>\n

Big Hit continued, \u201cRM expressed a firm commitment to deliver a high-quality performance at this symbolic comeback stage at Gwanghwamun, the company, in close consultation with the artist, has made the decision to prioritize the medical opinion to pre-emptively prevent any further strain on his injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

The label confirmed that \u201cRM\u2019s on-stage performance, including choreography, will be partially limited,\u201d adding: \u201cWe sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may cause, given the high anticipation surrounding this performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough RM\u2019s on-stage performance will inevitably be limited, he will do his best to participate on stage and engage with ARMY and the audience. We know you have waited a long time for this performance, and we will put our utmost effort into delivering a heartfelt show.\u201d<\/p>\n

The stream will be followed by the documentary BTS: The Return, premiering on the streaming service on March 27. The statement describes it as \u201can intimate documentary film chronicling the making of the band\u2019s new album\u201d that \u201coffers fans a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the journey behind BTS\u2019s highly-anticipated return.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018ARIRANG\u2019 is the group\u2019s first album since 2020\u2019s \u2018Be<\/a>\u2019 and their first release since their anthology LP \u2018Proof<\/a>\u2019 in 2022.<\/p>\n

The album features the likes of Diplo<\/a>,\u00a0Kevin Parker<\/a>,\u00a0JPEGMAFIA<\/a>, Mike WiLL Made-It,\u00a0Ryan Tedder<\/a>,\u00a0Flume<\/a> and El Guincho.<\/p>\n

In terms of the members themselves,\u00a0RM\u00a0is credited on every track excluding the sixth, \u2018No. 29\u2019, while\u00a0Suga<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0J-hope<\/a>\u00a0have contributed to almost all of them,\u00a0Jungkook<\/a>\u00a0worked on four,\u00a0 and\u00a0Jimin<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0V<\/a>\u00a0contributed to \u2018They Don\u2019t Know \u2018Bout Us\u2019 and \u2018Into The Sun\u2019 and \u20182.0\u2019 and \u2018Into The Sun\u2019 respectively \u2013 check out the full tracklist and credits here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"RM has sprained his ankle ahead of the giant BTS comeback concert tonight (March 21).
