Flea<\/a> is serving as a reminder to all to stay vigilant at all times to avoid potential “bizarre peeing accidents.”<\/p>\n

During an appearance on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show<\/a>, the Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/a> bassist explained to host Jimmy Fallon<\/a> why he was sporting a large white bandage on his head. The wound dressing could clearly be seen as Flea performed his cover of Frank Ocean’s Grammy-nominated 2012 hit “Thinkin Bout You,” which will be featured on his upcoming album Honora, out Friday.<\/p>\n

The musician’s first attempt at an explanation was some of the best storytelling he’s done in a while.<\/p>\n

“Well, it’s very serious, Jimmy. A few days ago I was walking down the street, I see this gang of thugs walking towards me \u2014 there’s, like, five guys. They’re all wearing leather jackets, mugging old ladies. I saw them mug like four old ladies,” the 63-year-old rocker, whose real name is Michael Peter Balzary, claimed.<\/p>\n

“They’re carrying bats, knives, chains. They look like the bad guys in RoboCop. I saw them, they’re coming toward me,” Flea continued, detailing the “awful” situation. “I’m very trained in martial arts my whole life \u2014Wang Chung. So, I charged them, a flurry of flying kicks, round kicks, I jumped up into a tree, did a backflip off the last guy out.”<\/p>\n

The musician was adamant that he “had to” break out the fierce moves to handle the group of troublemakers and save the four helpless old ladies. “And they’re all lying there on the ground, whimpering, crying, moaning, begging for mercy. At that moment, I realized that I had suffered a little nick, but justice had been done,” he proclaimed, proudly.<\/p>\n

Of course, after Fallon led the audience into a round of applause for Flea’s bravery, the musician admitted that his version of events had been… slightly skewed.<\/p>\n

“I have a confession to make. I made that story up,” Flea confessed. “I wanted to act tough, Actually what happened was \u2014 it was a bizarre peeing accident. I was doing a radio show for Apple Music the other day. I was playing songs, I was playing a Lee Morgan song, a great song called ‘Stopstart’ with Billy Higgins on drums \u2014 this is the real story. Three minutes left in the song, I said, ‘I’ve got to go pee.'”<\/p>\n

Flea recalled that, as the song continued to play, “I jump up, I run down the hallway, I pee, I’m coming back, I’m wearing my reading glasses, I yell something to someone running full sprint down the hallway, mind you, and bam! Smack into a glass door, flat on my back, blood spurting out of my head. I’m laying there, and I’m going, ‘Oh, man, I got to do the Fallon show in a few days. I’ll tell him I got in a fight.'”<\/p>\n

But that wasn’t all the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee had to confess.<\/p>\n

“You know, strangely enough, this is not my first peeing accident. I want you to know that I peed the bed ’til I was 11 or 12 years old. Caused me no shortage of embarrassment,” Flea told Fallon and the audience. Turning his attention to “all you bedwetters” watching The Tonight Show, Flea let viewers know that he is “one of you. You are not alone. I know what it’s like to sleep over at someone’s house, and you pee the bed, and you wake up in a sea of urine. I know the embarrassment. I know the pain. I know the lack of self-esteem.”<\/p>\n

He concluded, “And to bedwetters, I want you to know you can be a bedwetter and you can make it all the way to the Jimmy Fallon motherf—in’ show!”<\/p>\n
