{"id":357379,"date":"2026-03-25T14:12:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/357379\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T14:12:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:12:12","slug":"second-workshop-on-the-revision-of-the-governance-regulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/357379\/","title":{"rendered":"Second workshop on the revision of the Governance Regulation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The European Commission\u2019s Directorate-General for Energy and Directorate-General for Climate Action are convening a second workshop on the revision of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=uriserv:OJ.L_.2018.328.01.0001.01.ENG&amp;toc=OJ:L:2018:328:TOC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Regulation on the governance of the energy union and climate action<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission\u00a0plans to\u00a0present\u00a0a\u00a0legislative proposal in Q4 2026 to simplify, strengthen and modernise the\u00a0Governance Regulation. The legislative proposal aims to assist the EU and its Member States in preparing a conducive policy framework for energy and climate for the coming decade and aims to support the attainment of the Paris Agreement\u2019s long-term objectives. Specifically, the enhanced framework can be more effectively utilised to mobilise the required investments for the transition. To this end, <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/strategy\/energy-union\/national-energy-and-climate-plans_en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Energy and Climate Plans<\/a> (NECPs) should be transformed into investment plans that channel both public and private funding and articulate substantive national reforms essential for sectoral transitions.<\/p>\n<p>Engagement and dialogue with the general public constitute a significant step in the revision process. A <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/events\/workshop-revision-governance-energy-union-and-climate-action-2026-03-03_en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first workshop with stakeholders<\/a> regarding this subject took place on 3 March. The <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/16034-Update-of-the-governance-of-the-Energy-Union-and-climate-action_en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">public consultation and call for evidence<\/a> concerning this initiative concluded on 19 March.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop is an opportunity to share perspectives and insights on the ongoing work of the impact assessment. The contributions will contribute directly to the preparations for the revision of the Governance Regulation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event will gather representatives from the Commission, delegates from EU countries, stakeholders (industry, investors, NGOs, consumer representatives, trade unions, academia), and the contractor supporting the Commission in the impact assessment.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be web streamed, even though interventions are only possible for those invited and physically present.
