{"id":35764,"date":"2025-09-24T20:12:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-24T20:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/35764\/"},"modified":"2025-09-24T20:12:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T20:12:08","slug":"two-thirds-of-hr-professionals-considering-switching-jobs-survey-finds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/35764\/","title":{"rendered":"Two thirds of HR professionals considering switching jobs, survey finds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">At a time when many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplemanagement.co.uk\/article\/1930154\/workers-ditch-job-hopping-favour-job-hugging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">workers are prioritising job security<\/a> as a response to labour market challenges, new research suggests HR professionals may be preparing to do the opposite.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Two thirds (65 per cent) of people professionals expect to leave their organisation in the coming year, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciphr.com\/infographics\/15-reasons-why-hr-professionals-want-to-leave-their-jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">research<\/a> by HR and payroll provider Ciphr.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Of the 300 UK HR decision makers polled, only a third (35 per cent) said they were not actively job hunting or planning to look for new roles.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplemanagement.co.uk\/article\/1875208\/quarter-workforce-moving-jobs-next-six-months-research-finds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Quarter of the workforce moving jobs in the next six months, research finds<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplemanagement.co.uk\/article\/1930154\/workers-ditch-job-hopping-favour-job-hugging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Workers ditch job hopping in favour of \u2018job hugging\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplemanagement.co.uk\/article\/1870594\/half-hr-professionals-say-retention-biggest-challenge-research-reveals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Half of HR professionals say retention is their biggest challenge, research reveals<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HR professionals seek new skills<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The most common reason HR professionals gave for wanting to change companies was a desire to gain new knowledge and skills (33 per cent), while 24 per cent cited higher pay as their motivation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A fifth (20 per cent) said they were seeking a more rewarding or fulfilling role, while 19 per cent were motivated by improving work-life balance.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMost employers are very aware that retention continues to be a challenge, but they may not be expecting to see such high figures of discontent and risk of attrition among their own HR teams,\u201d said Claire Hawes, chief people and operations officer at Ciphr.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Respondents also cited stress and high workloads as factors influencing their decision to change jobs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">HR practitioners are facing \u201cintense demands\u201d, according to Charlie O\u2019Brien, head of people at HR software business Breathe HR, including navigating legislative change and handling increasing volumes of job applications.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAll of this is playing out against a backdrop of limited resources and rising expectations. It\u2019s no surprise that many are looking elsewhere for better support, stronger development pathways and more competitive rewards,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Improving retention within people teams\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">High levels of turnover within the HR function can have a significant impact on organisations, said Gregory Rouvelin, digital marketing director at recruitment platform Employers.io.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWhen HR staff walk out, you lose continuity in things such as workforce planning, pay reviews and culture initiatives, and those aren\u2019t easy to pick up,\u201d he explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Retention issues among HR personnel can also be an indicator of wider cultural issues. \u201cIf you\u2019re not doing what you can to meet HR\u2019s needs and priorities, another organisation will,\u201d warned Hawes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Providing clear career pathways, mentorship and stretch opportunities for progression will demonstrate to employees that their development is a priority, according to Rouvelin.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cEven small moves make it more likely that ambitious HR professionals see a future where they are,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">However, some level of attrition within organisations can be healthy, said Martin Drake, founder of recruitment agency Higher People.
