(Bloomberg) \u2014 Stocks and bonds fell across the world as Iran\u2019s persistent rejection of the Trump administration\u2019s push for talks to end the war in the Middle East sent oil prices higher.<\/p>\n
S&P 500 futures dropped 0.6%, with about 48 hours to go before a US delay in strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure expires to allow for negotiations. European stocks snapped a three-day run of gains. Memory and storage makers sold off in Asia after Google touted a technique that could reduce memory needs for artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n
Brent resumed its advance, rising 3.6% to nearly $106 a barrel. The move reignited inflation fears and pushed global yields higher as money markets priced in tighter monetary policy. BlackRock Inc. President Rob Kapito said investors may be underestimating the risks stemming from the Iran war, which are likely to weigh on economic growth and drive inflation higher even if the conflict ends soon.<\/p>\n
Oil may still spike to $150 a barrel even \u201cif we announce tomorrow the war is over,\u201d as it would take time for disrupted supply chains to return to full capacity, Kapito said in Melbourne on Thursday.<\/p>\n
