As part of the announcement of its 2026\u201327 season, London\u2019s Wigmore Hall has announced the 16 artists that will be joining its cohort of associate artists with five-year tenures. As part of the programme, they will be involved in commissions, inter-disciplinary projects, and collaborations \u2018reflecting the breadth of today\u2019s musical landscape\u2019.<\/p>\n

The string players joining the programme are violinist Daniel Pioro, violist Timothy Ridout, cellists Anastasia Kobekina and Abel Selaocoe, the Leonkoro Quartet, and multi-instrumentalist and violist Rhiannon Giddens.<\/p>\n

The other new associate artists are Thomas Ad\u00e8s, Ambrose Akinmusire, Louise Alder, Boris Giltburg, Will Liverman, Harold L\u00f3pez-Nussa, Anja Mitterm\u00fcller, Jack Sheen, Peter Whelan, and The Gesualdo Six.<\/p>\n

\u2018Following the festivities for the Hall\u2019s 125th anniversary in May, the 2026\u201327 Season represents an important strategic step for Wigmore Hall and its future path,\u2019 said Wigmore Hall director John Gilhooly CBE. \u2018Our new partnerships and associate artists establish a strong collaborative framework for the years ahead in the wider cultural narratives of the UK and beyond.\u2019<\/p>\n

The upcoming season will also see performances by renowned string players including violinists Joshua Bell, Janine Jansen, Alina Ibragimova, Leonidas Kavakos, Viktoria Mullova, Christian Tetzlaff, Vilde Frang, Francesca Dego, and Tamsin Waley-Cohen.<\/p>\n

Cellists featured will include Steven Isserlis, Sol Gabetta, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Jean Guihen-Queyras, Tanja Tetzlaff, Pieter Wispelwey; as well as the Tak\u00e1cs, \u00c9bene, Belcea, Arcadia and Danish quartets.
